Alberta Health Care for Seniors
If you are 65 or older, Alberta Health Care provides a maximum of $25 per visit for a total of $200 per year. The calendar year runs from July 1 – June 30.
To ensure you claim your entitlement, we are advised that this allowance should be utilised as your primary insurance above any other personal coverage you might have. Once you are issued with your Alberta Blue Cross seniors number, bring it to us and we can direct bill Alberta Blue Cross for $25, and then you can simply claim the remainder from your personal coverage should you have any. Once your $200 allowance is exceeded, we’re happy to take over the direct billing of any personal plan listed above.
